JUST Bought sencore vg91 and tva92
seen people using them on youtube (shango066 and bob anderson) and since I wanted a good test pattern generator I saw one for what I thought was pretty cheap compared to almost a grand for both of them on fleabay. Well the vg91 works but tva92 does not.
Cleaned up the connecting cable because it seemed tarnished. Still nothing. Tested transformer voltage. Input 123 volts but no output. Transformer I cant imagine would be bad and checked primary a/c fuse and it was blown. Required is a 2 amp fast blow and I found a 1 amp installed. Why somebody would put in a 1 amp fuse in a 2 amp spot I have no idea unless they like cremating fuses. tva92 fired right up! Now I have to figure out what all I can use it for. sadly I do not have any of the custom test leads so I might have to make those.

Most of the outputs are BNC, RCA or banana jack. IIRC only the ringer and dynamic tests use special probes.
One cool feature of the VG91 is the external modulation jack on the back. You can feed composite video in and it gets RF modulated out the front. That allows you to use any content you like while working on a set. Hook up an over the air converter box or DVD player for example.
