I'm bumping this because there's nothing else to talk about to report that CFJC is still broadcasting on Analog channel 4.

That's it. There's nothing left. Analog cable is dead. Analog mobile telephone is dead and even dial-up internet is more or less gone but it's 2025 and you can still get the mid-day news with a traditional TV set and rabbit ears.

Interesting it's still legal in Canada. In the US the FCC banned licensing for all the last low power analog TV stations in 2021.

A friend of mine claims the owner of a former TV station site in fondulac is running it as a pirate station, but I haven't been close enough to confirm.

Looked further into it and found that a CRTC renewal application for CFJC was submitted at the end of 2023.

https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2023/2023-414.htm

The repeater at the far end of the valley was shutdown due to cost and maintenance and that now explains why my reception got worse since now I have to pick it up from a tower behind a mountain, but it also notes the license is not up for renewal again until 2028, so that may be the cutoff.
I am however still getting reception in the middle of the city.

Not this year yet, but I've seen Analog VHF-Lo from Canada, Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic and a couple from Central America. 2020~2023. Images to prove it, too. Here in Largo, Florida...
