Philco 48-J001 on Ebay

Looks very nice and maybe original condition. Possibly cheap. In PA.
Item# 6228374526.
I'm not very familiar with those old B/W sets but it looks neeter than some others I have seen.

Its a Philco 48-1001 not J001. Large heavy 10" table top. Philco made many models in 1948. It seems more common today then the 48-1000. Anyone know why? I've heard that people preferred or salesman pushed a plain cabinet so they would watch what was on the TV versus looking at the TV set itself? Look at http://www.tvhistory.tv/1946-49-PHILCO.htm to see 7 different designs for Philco 10" sets from 1948-1949.

I was surprized to see that it weighs in at 108 lbs I live about 25 miles from Quakertown. I put my zip in to see what the shipping costs would be close to $70. Don't know that I need one.
