Outside of a hobbyists budget and scope (mine anyway), but maybe someone's interested?
Way over my head, too. The Harris time-base corrector is a handy device for dealing with "Macrovision" and similar annoyances of commercial VHS tapes and DVDs. They show up surplus occasionally at far more reasonable prices.
