I would think a TV was a big-ticket luxury item for either one of them.. Ralph & Ed were POOR...
Most of us were. In the early fifties my father was working at a defense plant and making big bucks... $85 a week. You could buy a 16" tabletop B&W for around $180 -- and that was the cheapest one around.
