Squeaky Clean Motorola In PA.
This Nut wants to "part" this set out. I hope someone grabs it before this abomination is commited. I already have one that needs a recap and a real cool bakelite version that works on all original components (exept a few tubes) so I say that these were decent quality sets. The one I have that I say needs a recap played for about an hour when I brought it home and then something gave out in the RF section. Both were exposed to straight 110 volts from the get go which NOW I know is a NO NO. For both to have held out and produced sound and picture after decades of storage to me is an indication that these Motorolas although fairly common were not cheap in quality. The bakelite has eratic vertical hold now. I'm sure its an electrolytic. I do hate the selenium rectifier power supply.
I think this would be a good find if the reseve is not high. Circa 1952 http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-MOTOROLA...QQcmdZViewItem |

I don't have any interest in the TV (I am not a collector of TVs) but I live about 2 hours from Old Forge, PA. I travel on business into that area about once per month. If an AK member wants that set bad enough and wins the auction, I could pick it up and hold onto it until pony express or some other arrangements were made. Just offering......
