Philco TV servicing guide from 1946

The Servicing of TELEVISION RECIVERS.
Complete and Authoritative...
Prepared by the SERVICE DIVISION of PHILCO

I recently picked up this 130+ page manual published in 1946. So far, I've just scanned a few pages. Hi-res version are here.

Philco must have been really anxious to get TV material published as a lot of the specifics in the document were already obsolete. 10AP4 CRT ? Brute force HV supply ? 1232 tubes ?

I'm willing to scan the whole thing if there is any interest and it hasn't already been scanned.

Bob,

Cool stuff. Wouldn't it be great to find one of these in someone's attic?

Nice scans and thanks!

It sure would! These are pre-war sets. I'm not sure they were ever sold to the public.
The ETF has some scans from the same publication and more info here: http://www.earlytelevision.org/philc...cing_book.html

I'd love a full copy if you get the time. I've uploaded my Philco Television Troubleshooting Handbook - see link below. It's about 28 pages and 8mb in size so be prepared...

This is the cover:

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thought that! I have always thought that the classy/sexy pin-up girl kind of beauty from the 30s to the 60s was very easy on the eyes.

I love seeing everyone in the pictures basically piled up in front of the sets!
