I picked up one of those in 1958, when I was 13 yrs. old. The crt neck was broken. I scrapped it because, even at that time it wasn't worth repairing. The chassis always struck me as being a pre-war design. The RCA 630 was much more advanced.

I just spoke with the guy who I fixed his 802 for, and he told me it is still running great. It was about a year ago that I began work on that thing, and I still think it will be a long while before I consider fooling with one again.
The ad mentions an "eye" they are not referring to a tuning eye, but rather a jewel light at the bottom of the cabinet, which acts as an indicator so you know if the set was left on when the doors were closed. |
