Looking for 7DP4 or GL-4592

Hi: I just recently picked up an RCA 621 and the crt checks with a blown filament. Does anyone know if Dennis Choinski still has any of his GL-4592s? Or does anyone out there have a working, spare 7DP4 they'd like to sell? I realize I'm probably asking for the moon! Help!!!

Reasons like this are why I proposed building a run of clones at RACS...

Don't forget to check the pins to be sure that the solder on the filaments are good...

Sometimes one can re-weld a break in the filament(if one can find a position at which it has intermitant continuity ie the halves of the break touch) by charging a capacitor and positioning the tube so the broken halves touch YMMV.

The stuff we collectively know here is remarkable.

Another source of HV, limited current is an oil burner ignition transformer. I may have an opportunity to do this.

I don't deserve credit.
I think I read about that method here some months back.....It has just kind of stuck in my mind.

I have not seen many 621's in the last few years become available with a
good crt, that's why they are so many showing up.
I have a vg crt but have been looking for the 621's wood bezel [the one over the
crt] for several years - I would pay for a decent bezel, or even a 621 with a
known bad crt [if reasonable].

Indeed - three in one weekend They all have issues, but that'll give me something to do for the next few years.
