help identifying set

Anyone know who the maker of this set might be? Contacted the owner and he doesn't see any identification on it.

Thanks in advance.

Appears to be a post-porthole era Raytheon.

Real close to this Airline:

I checked Photofact (set 150, folder 3, dated 11-51) and it appears to have the same layout, including the two transformers mounted near the back edge of the chassis, 5U4 on the left, HV on the right.

Definitely Raytheon built, I have a similar model but with a more Trapezoidal cabinet, and also no identifying marks, that someone identified as a Truetone (Western Auto Stores).

Actually from this angle my set looks square also, but it is about two inches narrower at the top than the bottom.

Interesting! Photofact 161, folder10 (3-52) shows a Truetone with the the same chassis layout as the Airline that I posted about above. Again they show a rounded top version, but list other models.

Roundtop=2d2043a
Others=2d1091, 2d2047b

Wonder how many other "store brand" TVs are the same Raytheon-built set?

Now, seeing the pictures of that set brought me back some memories... when I was maybe seven years old I saw a TV that looked like that one ( as far as I can remember ) abandoned in the sidewalk, ready to be picked-up by the garbage truck... I lived in Rio de Janeiro at that time. I remember that I really wanted to save that TV from destruction... I've got the "bug" of vintage TV collecting since that time!

I have a Raytheon Belmont set.... don't know when the names split. Were they different companies, or just marketing names?

I know Raytheon built sets for Wards (Airline), Truetone (Western Auto) and Stewart Warner.
