Old polish CCTV system Alfa
CCTV system Alfa type TP-1481 was probably the first Polish CCTV system that was put into production in WZT (Warszawskie Zaklady Telewizyjne). Probably only one monitor survived and it is in my collection.Unfortunately, it is not complete, as there are no lens and aperture drive systems. Additionally, the camera in my system has a converted housing. The electronics in the camera, however, partially look original. Another collector has an original camera but no monitor.
The production of this system was started around 1960. The deflection circuits for the camera were in the monitor and the video preamplifier in the camera. The image converter was a vidicon. Probably mainly Polish PWM2 or PWM21 vidicons were used http://www.pwl.mikrokontroler.pl//tv...kony/pwm2.html http://www.pwl.mikrokontroler.pl//tv...ony/pwm21.html , the production of which was started at the Industrial Institute of Electronics. The monitor and the camera were connected with a multi-wire cable. The entire system includes over 50 electron tubes. The monitor's power consumption is 500W. In this monitor was generator 31250 Hz and string of frequency dividers for forming synchro pulses. These systems were sometimes used in some Polish TV studios. A system Alfa "was an actor" in the funny comedy film "gangsters and philanthropists" from 1962, directed by Jerzy Hoffman. The frame from this movie is an attached file. So far I have not found the technical documentation of this system and during the repair I had to draw the necessary diagrams. You can see the working system here (with my polish talking about the system): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRHKMvfJs3Y&t=354s But when you fast-forward and rewind, you will find interesting shots, I suppose. I replaced the damaged vidicon with another one, but it was not of good quality and therefore the image has white dots. Last edited by AlekZ; 11-21-2020 at 01:36 AM. |
