Need some info

Hey, I have a radio I picked up a while back, and when I was real real yung, my grandma had one of these exact ones, and not too long ago, she gave it to me.

I rigged a 63volt battery with 9 volts, and 2 C type batterys, and im wondering who actually made this radio, and what year this radio was from.

The radio works, but its kinda distorted, I tried cranking up the B+ by adding a 9v or two, and it didnt make much of a difference, except get it a little louder. (and hotter)

Anyone have any info on this type of radio? does anyone have any sams for it?
