Heathkit HA-14 SSB Amp

Pardon me if this is the wrong forum, but I'm not sure what I have, other than its some sort of ham radio equipment.

Yesterday at the SA thrift, I bought a Heathkit HA-14 SSB Amplifier. I'm still not sure exactly what I have, even after looking at web pages like http://www.qsl.net/w6ovp/ . Even though it says its an amp, it seems to have a tuner in it. I figured out today that that SSB means Single Sideband.

I have no interest in ham equipment, and can't even turn the thing on without an outboard power supply that I don't have, but I paid $3.00 for it, and the last one sold on eBay for $133 with no tubes and blackened scortch marks on the case, and mine has both 572B power tubes and no blackening.

I'll snap some pix soon, and will probably offer it for sale here at AK before I try to sell it on the 'bay. Its of no use to me, with no power and no idea what it really is.

Again, pardon if this in the wrong place -- Foe
