You might remember this from a while back when I first got this set.
I think it's a Raytheon or another brand using the same chassis. Steve K. suggested it could be a Coronado with a chassis made by Gamble-Skogmo and would be in Sams 145-5, seems like as good a place to start as any. Does anyone have that Sams they could look at and see if it looks like the same chassis pictured here? Other possibilities are: Raytheon M1106, Sams- 141-11 Raytheon M1101, Sams 94-8 There is a "Part Number" on the chassis visible on the left and the numbers on the two transformers should be visible, these transformers are what I need because a mouse chewed through the windings! I'm guessing these might be for Vertical and Audio? If Sams lists a replacement number I can contact Moyer and see if they have replacements! Thanks!

It is a Raytheon.
Chassis 10AX22, 10AXF44, 12AX22 and 16AX23/25/26/29 uses that vertical output transformer. It seems it would depend on your CRT size as to what chassis it is. The one on the right is the vertical output transformer. Thordarson replacement is 26S51 The B16A-17959/1 is a choke. Thordarson replacement 26C44. That choke is used on all but 3 Raytheon chassis. According to my thordarson book. polaraman Last edited by polaraman; 10-27-2005 at 10:03 PM. |

Thank you!
My set is a 12" so it must be the 12AX22 model. I really like this set, it needs lots of work but it's complete and has great potential! Eric |

Eric:
It looks like Raytheon made the chassis for Gamble-Skogmo because it looks just like the chassis that I'm using for my color wheel set! Steve |

That is SAMS 94-8. The 10AX22 AND 12AX22 Share the same SAMS.

I can't help but notice the "Input" RCA jack next to a switch. Is this an input for composite video and a switch to switch between the composite video coming from the video detector and the jack? If it is then I think you got a sweet set. If I wanted to do that with my RCA 630TS or my two 630TS clones, is it as simple as connecting a composite video signal through a 1uF capacitor to the input of the video amp?
Thanks. Jonathan |

I didn't notice the input jack, I suspect it's a Phono input rather than video.
I don't know what the switch is for either, possibly to switch the audio input since I don't see any control on the front for that purpose? |

Eric,
I had parted out a 12" chassis a few years ago that looks very similar to yours. I think it may have been a Truetone but I'm not sure. Anyway, I think I salvaged all of the transformers from the set. I'll try to dig them up and see if they have the same part number.

Someone on IRC who worked on old TVs and radios said that you can couple a composite video signal through a .1uF capacitor to the video amplifier of a 630TS set. Seems like it'll work, but who knows if the video level would be too high.

Sean, thank you for the offer but Moyer had these in stock and I have them coming!

I've been workin on the Ray-the-on
All the live long day. <he he>
Mostly cosmetic stuff so far although I did install the new choke and transformer. The choke feeds B+ from the 5U4 to the filter, even with the new one the set doesn't do anything, slight noise from the speaker and that's all. On the other hand it didn't burst into flames and that's always a good thing. Here are some pictures. The loose wire is supposed to be soldered to the case of that transformer. |
